I've been wanting to try out ringlet curls for a few months now. I'd seen pictures on Instagram and thought that it looked pretty sick, but never got round to investing in a curling tong thin enough to give me the tight voluminous curls I oh so desired. Then I discovered the Lee Stafford Chopstick Curler - purchased off Argos for £16 (bargain!). Named after a chopstick because it's the shape of one. Don't be fooled by the rectangular shape though, it still gives lovely ringlet curls, no kinks in sight. What I will say though is using a heat glove is a good idea so you can get the hair curled right to the ends. I tried to get mine right to the root as well to make it look more natural. And did the classic, curl one strand one way and the next strand the opposite.

It does take a bit of getting used to using (probably because I never curl my hair), but once I'd got the hang of the first few curls, I wizzed round the rest of my head in about half an hour. The photo below shows the end result:

Yes I does look a bit ridiculous at this point, just look at that fringe. Looks like the type of ringlet curls a doll would have. I look like a doll... Ok so, whatever you do now, do not brush it. I can imagine it would create a frizzy mess! I used a very wide toothed comb to comb out each curl, which gives a lot more volume, and scrunched some Argon Oil into it. A middle parting also just didn't make the cut. My fringe was so short it looked so stupid! I flicked it all over into a side parting and it looks sooooo much better, my fringe actually merged into the rest of my hair for once!

I also tried out my standard half up half down style and think I may prefer it?

ps. It's the next day, I put it all up in a bun to sleep in and I'm really hoping when I take it down the curls are all still gonna be there. That or it's just gonna be a frizzy mess!

pps. I've just taken it out and the curls are still going strong. There are a couple of bits I'd like to re curl but overall I'm impressed - usually curls don't hold in my straight hair for more than a few hours!
