Underground Creepers - TK Maxx
Jeans - Boohoo (Old & DIYed)
Shirt - Vintage

Take two... I already wrote out this post once, was well pleased with it, then of course Blogger decided to get rid of it all.

These jeans have literally been DIYed to death. It all started back when ripped knees took over England last year, and decided to give these a little rework and cut some holes in. Back then, they were still blue acid wash, and I'm not going to lie, I was kinda over blue acid wash by that point. Even though I loved them with the rips, I still never wore them that much.

A few months ago, I then spotted a photo on Pinterest (oh, Pinterest) of some distressed ankle grazers, and needed them there and then. I volunteered these jeans to once again go under chop, and off the bottoms of them came. After a few washes they got really frayed, and I love how they look now. I think if you're ripping your own jeans, you've got to give them a few washes to start fraying properly, otherwise it just looks like a clean cut through the material.

But alas, they were still blue acid wash, so last week I got the washing machine dye out. They look sooo much better now, and I like that the dye didn't completely black out the acid wash. I also love how the ankles look with Creepers!

The day that we all dread has finally arrived... my laptop's broken *17 crying emoji's*. The screen is just black, so I was like, this isn't so bad, can just HDMI it to my tv and use that as a screen - of course with my luck, it did not work. I was debating buying a new laptop anyway, because my current one has wifi issues, but I don't exactly have the mons to be spending on nice shiny new laptops. If I did, I would have to dip into my savings, and I was kinda saving that for travelling and other important life events. But then I'm like, what's the point of having money if I'm not gonna spend it? Then again, that's always the excuse I use when I'm trying to justify my spending... Help, I don't know what to do!

These may be my fave nail polishes yet...

From what I can gather, the idea behind the new *O.P.I Colour Paints is crazy nail art. They have this magical formula that makes nail art super easy, because the colours blend together so goddamn well. Seriously, they actually do. I've tried it. In the swatches above, the nail polishes don't look particularly opaque, but I've this amazing for layering them together. The colours pop over the top of the silver undercoat, and I've been layering them on top of each other. It creates a really unique effect where the top colour is opaque in some areas, but clear enough in others to let the colour below show through - but more on that later.

The brush is also amazing. Can I just say that, I fail at nail art. I just cannot get the hang of it - the nail polish always smudges and runs everywhere, even trying to do simple polka dots fails big time. This may have something to do with the formula as well, but the brush makes it so easy to create cute little designs. I actually painted on a perfectly straight line, fairly easily. That is like groundbreaking for me - I actually made nail polish look nice on my nails! Winning brush right there.

And there's the straight line I was talking about. I used Turquoise Aesthetic layered on top of Purple Perspective (pictured below), and it creates a really pretty mermaidy teal colour. Not too mention the ridiculously glossy finish as well - and that's without a top coat! There's different greens and blue tones created by the shades being layered up - I love it.

I'm really with neutral colours like navy and monochrome stripes at the moment. It's strange how our style evolves over time - back in day, like 3 years ago, I wouldn't have been seen dead in a camel and navy outfit, but now I love how the two colours mix.

I'm still completely on the 70's trend as well, and I am so excited to wear it this Autumn. I feel that a-line skirts and high neck tops are going to be my absolute go to look (not that they aren't already!). This skirt was definitely one of my better purchases for the year - I actually bought it specifically for my graduation, but I've been wearing it so much, and getting so much love for it in the comments whenever I feature it on the blog. I've most certainly got my money's worth out of this one. I also picked up this top in a charity shop a few months back for about 3 quid. Ribbed tops are still one of my faves, I just love the texture.

Woah, two weeks since I last posted an Insta Week. Last Sunday I was down south on the Island Bestival. I've been the last two years now, but I feel like they cheaped out a bit this year - it didn't impress me as much as last year. I can't say I'll be going again anytime soon. Glasto tix come out two weeks today though, anyone else on that? I'm already so nervous about the attempt to get them - it's such a stressful situation!

In other food related news, it is 1 in the morning and I am starving. Does anyone else start getting really hungry if you stay up into the early hours of the morning? It's so annoying because this is the worst time to snack...

The Fringed Bag | How To Style

fringed bag, 70s bag, 70s outfit, 70s ootd, 70s outfit inspiration, new look bag, draw string bag, stan smith trainers, stan smiths, bell sleeve top, flared sleeve top, a line skirt, how to style a fringed bag

I do love a bit of fringing, especially on my bags. I can't tell you how long I have wanted a fringed bag for, so I was pretty happy when I came across this little drawstring beaut from New Look. I'm planning to mainly use it on night's out, and this outfit is the kind of thing I usually wear. I know, trainers - I like to be comfy, okay? I kinda like how they contrast with the rest of the outfit. I went slightly 70's inspired with this amazing a-line skirt that I hunted down in a charity shop (score), and a bell sleeved top, which Missguided no long sell. The fringed bag pulls the whole thing together really well.

Fringed bags are a bit out there, and can be a little daunting - a tip for rocking them is to keep your outfit quite basic, and to use the bag as the focal point. New Look have loads of amazing fringed bags at the moment. I want more!!!

If I Had A Pinafore... And A Giveaway

I've been scouring the web for a cute pinafore dress, that isn't too expensive. I actually found an amazing black velvet one on Depop, but the seller is away on holiday until Sunday so I'm still debating whether or not to buy it (I'm thinking yes?). I also think denim pinafores look so rad, and I can definitely see it being a staple for this Autumn/Winter.

I've been loving Topshop at the moment (as always), so every single piece is from the Topshop website. I just need Topshop to be my wardrobe.

Starting with  my fave, just look at those boots. They are fringe heaven. I love how edgy this outfit is with the biker jacket and distressed tights.

I have a feeling OTK boots are going to be as big this A/W as they were last year, and I need to invest in a pair. Not gonna lie, I wasn't a massive fan of the suede, chunky heel ones that basically every blogger owned last year (soz), but these PU ones I can totally get on board with. How cosy does that jumper look as well?

Topshop are now selling CAT boots - I have wanted a pair for absolutely ages now, and they would be so perfect for winter. This probably isn't the warmest outfit ever, but I think this tie dye shirt would look so awesome thrown over the pinafore.

I've also decided to give away the statement necklace I featured in this post. It's a really pretty necklace and is worth about £20, but I can't wear it because it's too heavy on my neck piercing. I've only worn it once and still have the original box and packaging, so it's basically new!

The giveaway will be open internationally, and will finish a week today - good luck!

Bestival | The Outfits

The time has finally come - tonight I'll be driving back down to Portsmouth, ready for an early start for Bestival. I'm all packed, the weather's looking good, and here is what I'm planning to wear over the next four days. The backpack and the sunglasses are the same in every outfit, but go check out these sunglasses because they have interchangeable frames - life saver for packing light!

Top - Fovever 21 (not on website) | Levi Shorts - Urban Outfitters | Backpack - New Look | *Sunglasses - Carerra Via Sunglasses Shop

A pretty basic festival outfit - high waisted denim shorts and a crop top. Not very creative, I know, but look at that top! The back is so nice, and the best thing about it is that it actually covers up your bra strap, so strapless bra's can be worn with it. Okay, I actually think the best thing about it was that it was only a fiver... I really need to start shopping in F21 more.

Top - Missguided | Trousers - Primark | Backpack - New Look | *Sunglasses - Carerra Via Sunglasses Shop

This is what I'm planning to wear travelling there tomorrow. It's such a hippie-esque outfit, but also ridiculously comfy and light weight - perfect for trekking for hours across to campsites, dying under the weight of my bag.

Top - Missguided | Skirt - Charity Shop | Backpack - New Look | *Sunglasses - Carerra Via Sunglasses Shop

Definitely my fave out of the three, I feel as though this outfit will be perfect for Autumn as well, with a pair of tights. OMG BTW, this top is only a FIVER in the sale at the moment as well as the white one in the previous outfit - how amazing!

Update: just tried to link this one and the white one and they are no longer on the website - I'm not surprised they sold out so quickly!

I believe I have featured this outfit on my blog before, I just love it so much. I'll link it here, if you want to see what it looks like on.

Review | Happiness Boutique Statement Necklace

I have been wanting a boho statement necklace for the whole summer. Probably even before summer, maybe since like April - long, I know. I just haven't been able to find one that I really liked, but also that didn't break my already broken bank account too much. Until I found Happiness Boutique, and their massive range of necklaces, both statement and pretty & dainty. They are a company based in Germany, who not only sell jewellery, but clothing and other accessories. I'm always wary of online shopping from foreign websites because of the delivery prices, but get this - free shipping, to all countries. Gotta love a bit of free delivery. And, gotta love reward points. Happiness boutique, like many other online shops, have a reward system where you can exchange your points for pieces of their jewellery and clothing. I always think it's worth signing up for the reward points, because it's basically free stuff, and who doesn't like free stuff? I like free stuff.

I picked out the *Tribal Boho Statement Necklace, particularly because I  liked the coin detail. The necklace itself is very good quality, and came hand packaged in a pink ribbon bag, wrapped in pink tissue paper - I love it when companies make an extra effort with the packaging, it's always a nice little touch. Thoughts on the necklace? They have loads of other boho inspired ones as well!

INSTA WEEK #34

This time next week I will be partying on down at BESTIVAL. I am so excited, I cannot believe the time is almost here, once again. Our Hovercraft over to the island is booked for 7:45 in the morning - I cannot say that I am looking forward to the early start, but we need a good camping spot, right? The weather is also looking goooooooood, but who knows what it will be like next weekend. Probably hurricanes and torrential rain knowing England, and my luck. Annoying. I've decided that I will do I post on some of the clothes/outfits I'm taking, so watch out for that on Wednesday. Anyone else heading off to the Summer Of Love next Thurs?

Feeling Vintage

 Shirt - Vintage

This is the kind of thing that I will wear when I want to be comfy but still look like I've made half an effort with my outfit - comfy jeans, an oversized shirt and trainers. Thoughts?

Thrifted Gems

Ringer Tee - Blue Jays Merch
Skirt - Charity Shop
Creepers - Underground via TK Maxx
Sunglasses - Topshop

One of my obsessions at the moment is a-line skirts - I just think that they look so effortless and stylish with basically any top. This one is originally from Hobbs, and I think I snapped it up for about £4 or £5. Bargs. I can't say that I've ever shopped in Hobbs before (bit too posh for me) but for a size 10, this skirt is absolutely massive! Do their sizes come up really big? Since taking these photos, I put it in the washing machine without realising it's label says 'professionally dry clean only', and it did shrink a lot. Even on 30 degrees, I didn't even know that was possible. Not that I'm complaining 'cos it kinda fits now.
